Answer:

The equation have equal roots when ,

 {b}^{2}  - 4ac = 0

So ,

Applying this in this equation, where

A = (p-3)

B = 2(p-3)

C = 2

We get ,

 =  {b}^{2}  - 4ac = 0

 =  {(2(p - 3))}^{2}  - 4(p - 3)(2) = 0

 =  {(2p  - 6)}^{2}  - 4(2p - 6) = 0

 =  {4p}^{2}  + 36 - 24p - 8p + 24 = 0

 =  {4p}^{2}   -  32p + 60 = 0

 {p}^{2}  - 8p + 15 = 0

Splitting middle term ,

 {p }^{2}  - (5x + 3x) - 15 = 0

 =  {p}^{2}  - 5x - 3x + 15 = 0

 = p(p - 5) - 3(p - 5) = 0

 = (p - 3)(p  - 5) = 0

So ,

p = 3 , 5

Hope it helps you:)
