b) Precipitation occurs when water is evaporated from various water bodies such as lakes, rivers, seas, ponds, etc. We know that hot air rises up while cool air sinks. So this evaporated water rises up. We also know that air this out gradually with height, thinner air can hold less heat than dense air, so the temperature falls with increasing altitude. Clouds are formed high up in the atmosphere when the dew point is reached. Then the water droplets that condensed around dust particles in the air get too heavy to float in the air, they come sown as precipitation.
