x +y = √3 +1)/√3 -1. + (√3 -1)/√3 +1

= (√3 +1)^2 + ( √3 -1)^2)/ √3-1)(√3+1)

= 3 + 1 +2√3 + 3 + 1 -2√3)/ 3 -1

= 8 /2

= 4

x -y = (√3 +1)^2 - ( √3 -1)^2)/ 2

= 3 +1 +2√3 -3 -1 +2√3)/2

= 2√3

xy = 1


x^2 - y^2 + xy

(x-y)( x+y) + 1

8√3 + 1
