Water contain two part of hydrogen. Therefore, the electrysis of water then the heat produce collect in one of the test tube and double heat is produce and collect in the second test tube.

if it is class 10 it's in page no. 9 in your science reader
1. take a plastic mug. drill 2 holes at its base fit rubber stoppers in these holes. insert carbon electrodes in these rubber stoppers
2. connect these electrodes to a 6 volt battery.
3. fill the mug with water such that the electrodes are immersed. add a few drops of dilute sulphuric acid to the water.
4. take 2 test tubes filled with water and invert them over the two carbon electrodes.
5. switch on the current and leave the apparatus undisturbed for some time.
6. you will observe the formation of bubbles at both the electrodes. these bubbles displace water in the test tube.
7. hydrogen and oxygen gases are collected. the volume of hydrogen gas will be twice the volume of oxygen.
8. once the test tubes are filled remove them carefully.
