As electrostatic force are conservative forces so the work done in moving q Is independent of path followed

Therefore consider only two points P and S

As, workdone = force *displacement

here force will be qE

displacement is a

   \sqrt{ {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2} }

so

work done will be

qE \sqrt{ {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2} }

so ans. will be C

Kshitij2299: sorry for the wrong answer I would have checked the answer before uploading after seeing explanation plz refer this as electric field is along the x-axis so work done=qE(2a-a)+qE(a-2a)+qE(0-a)=-qaE
adityayadav050pdeqb2: yes
adityayadav050pdeqb2: thanks
adityayadav050pdeqb2: I already solve this question.
Kshitij2299: I don't try to upload wrong answer but sometime it happens unknowingly
adityayadav050pdeqb2: it's ok
