Question:

Evaluate

(iii) (16)^(-¾)

Answer:

1/8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given an expression,

 {(16)}^{ -  \frac{3}{4} }

To find its value.

We know that,

  • 16 = 2^4

Therefore, we will get,

 =  {( {2}^{4} )}^{ -  \frac{3}{4} }

But, we know that,

  •  { ({a}^{x} )}^{y}  =  {a}^{xy}

Therefore, we will get,

 =  {2}^{(4  \times ( -  \frac{3}{4} ))}  \\  \\  =  {(2)}^{ - 3}

But, we know that,

  •  {x}^{ - y}  =  \frac{1}{ {x}^{y} }

Therefore, we will get,

 =  \frac{1}{ {2}^{3} }  \\  \\  =  \frac{1}{8}

Hence, the required value is 1/8.
