slope of line formed by the two points (x`1,y1) and (x2,y2) is

m=  (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) and the equation formed by the two points  is

y-y1 = m(x-x1) or u can use (x2,y2) also.

so slope b/w the points L(a,b) and M(b,a) is m= (a-b)/(b-a)

=> - [ (b-a)/(b-a)] so m=-1

equation is  y-y1 = m(x-x1) => y-b = (-1)(x-a) => y-b = -x+a =>  x+y-a-b

so the required equation is  ****  x+y-a-b ****

HOPE IT HELPS U AND U UNDERSTAND
