(4):- The USCS has three major classification groups: coarse-grained soils (e.g. sands and gravels); fine-grained soils (e.g. silts and clays); and highly organic soils (referred to as "peat"). The USCS further subdivides the three major soil classes for clarification.

(5):- sandy soils tend to be light, well aerated and rather dry. Clay particles, being much smaller, pack tightly together, leaving little space for air. Unlike sandy soil, water can be held in the tiny gaps between the particles of clay. So clay soils have little air.

(7):-Sand, soil or mud that collects at the sides or on the bottom of a river.

(8):-Clay soils.
