Simply multiple interrelated food chains in a particular ecosystem. Here a tropic level of one food chain can be on different position of another food chain.ex:birds can act as primary consumer on tree ecosystem as if they eat seeds in a food chain, on the other hand if they eat insects, they are secondary consumers of another food chain,of same ecosystem ie tree.
