Answer:

9.     5 rational no. between -5/7 and -3/8

to make both denominators same first find the LCM of 7 and 8

LCM = 56

-5/7 :-  multiply 7 and -5 with 8

-5/7= -40/56

-3/8 :- multiply 8 and -5 with 7

-3/8= -21/56

rational no. between -40/56 and -21/56 are -22/56, -23/56, -24/56, -25/56 , -26/56 , -27/56 , -28/56 , -29/56 , and so on till -40/56.

10.   4 rational no. between -1/5 and -4/13

to make both denominators same first find the LCM of 5 and 13

LCM= 65

-1/5 :- multiply -1 and 5 with 13

-1/5 = -13/65

-14/13 :- multiply -4 and 13 with 5

-4/13 = -20/65

4 rational no. between -13/65 and -20/65 are -14/65, -15/65, -16/65, -17/65 and so on till -20/65

Step-by-step explanation:

9) -5/7 and -3/8

solve: the LCM of 7 and 8 is 56

-5/7*8/8= -40/56

-3/8*7/7 = -21/56

converting them in rational numbers

-40/56*6/6= -240/336

-21/56*6/6= -126/336

the five rational numbers are:

-241/336, -242/336 , -123/336 , -124/336 , 125/336

10) -1/5 and -4/13

solve: LCM of 5 and 13 is 65

-1/5*13/13= -13/65

-4/13*5/5= -20/65

converting them in the rational numbers

-13/65*5/5= -65/325

-20/65*5/5= -100/325

the five rational numbers are:

-66/325, -67/325 , -97/325 , -98/325 , -99/325

I hope this helps you
