2x - y = 14  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \rm \cdots(i)\\ 3x + 2y = 70\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \rm \cdots(ii)

From Equation (i), we have,

 \large{}y = 2x - 14 \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:   \:  \:  \:  \:   \: \:  \:  \:   \rm\cdots(a)

Putting Equation a in Equation (ii), we get,

 =  > 3x + 2(2x  -  14) = 70 \\  =  >  3x + 6x - 28 = 70 \\ =  >  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  9x - 28 = 70 \\  =  >  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 9x = 70 + 28 \\  =  > \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  9x = 98 \\  \\  =  >  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: x =  \frac{98}{9}  \\  \\  =  >  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: x = 10 \frac{8}{9}

And,

 \text{Value of y} = 2x - 14 \\  \\  =  > 2 \bigg\{  \frac{98}{9}  \bigg\} - 14 \\  \\  =  >  \frac{196}{9}  - 14 \\  \\  =  > 14\bigg( \frac{14}{9}  -1 \bigg) \\  \\  =  > 14\bigg( \frac{14 - 9}{9} \bigg) \\  \\  =  > 14\bigg( \frac{5}{9}  \bigg) \\  \\  =  >  \frac{70}{9}  \:  \:  \:  \rm{}or \:  \:   \: 7\frac{7}{9}

Thus,

 \boxed{x =  \frac{98}{9} \:  \:  \: \rm{or} \:  \:  \: 10 \frac{8}{9}  }  \\  \\  \\  \boxed{y =  \frac{70}{9}  \:  \:  \:  \rm{or} \:  \:  \: 7 \frac{7}{9} }
