Answer:

if

cosec theta + cot theta = 5. ...(1)

from this we get

cosec theta - cot theta = 1/5....(2)

now we have 2 equations

solve them

we get,

2cosec theta = 5 + 1/5

2 cosec theta = 26/5

cosec theta = 13/5

this implies

sin theta = 5/13

as sin theta is reciprocal of cosec theta

now we have

sin theta = 5/13 => sin² theta = 25/169

we know

sin²theta + cos²theta = 1

from this we get

cos²theta = 1- sin² theta

cos²theta = 1 - 25/169

cos²theta = 144/169

from this we get

cos theta = 12/13

hope this will help you
