Q : Determine the velocity
v of a Bob as a function of x if the velocity of jeep v(b) is constant .
When x = 0 , ends A and B
are coincident at C.

Final Answer : A)
 \frac{xv(b)}{ {h}^{2} + {x}^{2} }

Steps and Understanding:
1) Firstly,
By Pythagoras theorem,
l = \sqrt{ {x}^{2} + {h}^{2} }
where l will change with x.

2) Velocity of Bob will be component of velocity of jeep along the length l.
As, Velocity of string is same along the string at each point.

3)
v = v(b) \cos( \theta) \\ = > v = v(b) \frac{x}{ \sqrt{ {x}^{2} + {h}^{2} } }
Hence, velocity of Bob will be approximately
 \frac{v(b)x}{ \sqrt{ {x}^{2} + {h}^{2} } }
