Guys,
This question was in our physics UT. Some of the students are saying that the answer of this is light and some of the students like me are saying the answer is Heavier. The question is...
Two identical bullets are fired, one from heavy rifle and other with lighter rifle. Which rifle will hurt the shoulder? and Why
This same question was given in the UT. Please help me out...

Both rifles should hurt the shoulder equally because by the law of conservation of momentum, the lighter gun will move with more speed than heavier but the momentum will remain same, so both heavier and lighter rifles should hurt equally.

heya !!!
>IF THE MASSES OF BOTH BULLETS ARE SAME ,THEN THEY WILL HAVE SAME VELOCITIES.
>IF WE FIND OUT THE MOMENTUM OF THOSE TWO BULLETS THEN IT WILL BE EQUAL TO mu (mass * velocity) OF BOTH THE BULLETS.
>THUS ,MOMENTUM OF BOTH THE GUNS OR BULLETS ARE SAME.
>HENCE, BOTH WILL EQUALLY HURT THE SHOULDER .
*(IN CASE YOU WANT TO GIVE ONLY ONE ANSWER, YOU CAN WRITE HEAVIER BECAUSE MOMENTUM OF HEAVIER BULLET WILL BE SLIGHTLY GREATER THAN LIGHTER BULLET BUT IT IS IGNORANT)*
