3x - 7y = -10

-2x + y = 3

Multiplying 3x - 7y = 10 by 2 and -2x + y = 3 by 2

we get

6x - 14y = -20

-6x + 3y = 9

Therefore,

-11y = -11

y = 1

and

6x = -20 + 14

6x = -6

x = -6/6 = -1
