We know that

Tn = a + ( n - 1 )d

T3 = a + 2d

T8 = a + 7d

T3 + T8 = a + 2d + a + 7d

7 = 2a + 9d. ....1

T7 = a + 6d

T14 = a + 13d

T7 + T14 = a + 6d + a + 13d

- 3 = 2a + 19d ...2

Subtracting 1 from 2 we get

- 10d = 10

d = - 1

a = 8

T10 = 8 - 9

= - 1 .

a+2d+a+7d=7.....1. a+6d+a+13d=-3......2

from eqn 1n2

2a+9d=7

2a+19d=-3

------------------------------

-10d=10

d=-1//

substitute d=-1 in eqn 1

2a+9d=7

2a+9(-1)=7

2a-9=7

2a=16

a=8//

the 10th term of an AP is

=a+9d

=8+9(-1)

=8-9

=-1//
