Well, we all know that people from SC/ST can get reserved seats, lower fee to pay and scholarships even if they're rich.
I just don't like this. I don't like rich SC/ST people get reservation just as much as poor ones get.
Now let me explain the reasons-
Rich people have more access to books, coaching and most important- money. They can surely score better than the poor ones and as they have same low cut-off, they have more chances to get the seat than the poor ones.Rich people from General caste also get SC/ST/OBC caste certificate because they've money. (seriously, it's possible).Rich people already have money but still they get scholarship for just being from their caste.Rich reserved people have to pay less fee than Generals even while they have lots of money. It does feel bad because I have to pay more than them. Most rich people don't even study much and get college seats even after scoring less than Generals.
I don't have problem with the middle class or lower people getting reservation. It might be beneficial for them.
However, our government should do something about the rich SC/ST people. In my opinion, this could be better than present system, at least, I'll stop hating reservation-
Person having 6 lacs or more income per annum should not get scholarship.Person having 6 lacs or more should not have same cut off as other SC/ST students. It should be more than them or same as Generals. They can still get admission in reserved seats.
I just don't like rich people enjoying reservation. Some people even use the scholarship money as pocket-money and waste the money.
It's also true I felt bad about reservation when I couldn't get admission in the government engineering college where I needed to take admission while the person who scored less than me still got but I don't care much. I would've not got admission even if there was no reservation.
I could've got admission in engineering college but couldn't afford the fees. Now doing BSc in Computer Science, still happy.
I hope this may help u
