Resistors connected in series increases the effective resistence so the current flowing through the circuit decreases while in case of parallel connection the net resistence decreases and the current flowing through the circuit increases..

ANSWER:-

In parallel circuit resistors are connected in end to end and directly connected to supply. ... The current supply by the battery is equal to the sum of all current flow across each resistors in circuit. The value of equivalent resistance is lesser than the value of smallest resistors connected in parallel circuit.
