When a person catches fire he is immediately wrapped with thick blanket because it cuts off the supply of oxygen from air.Thus,stops the fire.

when a person catches fire he is immediately wrapped with a blanket so that the supply of oxygen is cut-off . We know that oxygen is essential for combustion. When the blanket is wrapped around the body, no air is allowed to come in contact with the body. The lack of oxygen(air) prevents the clothes of the person to continue burning. So the fire is gradually extinguished and the person concerned is saved
