1s^1 means there is one electron in first orbital (s) for hydrogen atom

for helium atom there is 1s^2  means 2 electrons in first orbital

when it comes to 2s^1 it means the power of S orbital increased due to increasing number of electrons. the power increase because of increasing number of electrons in a particular orbital.
