H.c.f by euclid division lemma by using grid paper

i don't understand what do you mean by grid paper so specify....and the way to get hcf of two numbers using the Euclids lemma is...
take the 2 numbers as: 30 and 38
taking bigger number on LHS 
38=30*1+8
now take remainder as the divider and the old divider as the dividend
30=8*3+6
similarly
8=6*1+2 ;
6=2*3+0
so the number which gives us the remainder zero being an dividend is the hcf of the two given numbers.
