Here we will use one formula that is 1st number × 2nd number = HCF × LCM


Given :- HCF = 12

LCM = 72

1st number = 24


To find :- 2nd number


Solution :-

1st number × 2nd number = HCF × LCM

Let the 2nd number be x

24 × x = 12 × 72

➾ 24x = 864

➾ x = $\dfrac{864}{24}$

➾ x = 36



∴ 2nd number is 36
