Given :

[ 1 - cos Ф + sin Ф ] / [ cos Ф + sin Ф - 1 ]

Divide both numerator and denominator by cos Ф :

⇒ [ 1/cos Ф + 1 + sinФ/cosФ ] / [ 1 + sinФ/cosФ - 1/cosФ ]

Use 1/cos Ф as sec Ф and sin Ф / cos Ф as tan Ф :

⇒ [ secФ + tanФ + 1 ] / [ 1 - sec Ф + tan Ф ]

Use sec²Ф - tan²Ф = ( sec Ф + tan Ф )( sec Ф - tan Ф ) = 1

⇒ [ sec Ф + tan Ф + ( sec Ф + tan Ф )( sec Ф - tan Ф ) ] / [ 1 - sec Ф + tan Ф ]

⇒ [ sec Ф + tan Ф ] (  1 - sec Ф + tan Ф ) / (  1 - sec Ф + tan Ф )

⇒ sec Ф + tan Ф

⇒ 1/cosФ + sinФ/cosФ

⇒ ( 1 + sin Ф )/ cosФ
