\huge\boxed{anSwer→}

let fraction =

  \huge\bold{ \frac{x}{y} }

 \frac{x - 5}{y - 3}  =  \frac{1}{2}

2x-10=y-3

2x-y=7----(1)eq

y=x+5

put this in (1)

2x-(x+5)=7

2x-x-5=7

x=7+5

 \huge \bold{x = 12}

y=x+5

y=12+5=17

fraction =

 \huge \bold {\frac{12}{17} }

it is correct

Answer:

Let the numerator be x and denominator be y respectively.

Fraction =  \tt{\dfrac{x} {y}}

According to the question,

 \tt{\dfrac{x - 5 } {y - 3 } = {\dfrac{1}{2}}} --> ( i )

y = 5 + x --> ( ii )

Now,

2( x - 5 ) = ( y - 3 )

2x - 10 = 5 + x - 3

2x - x = 2 + 10

x = 12

Putting value of 'x' in equation ( ii ),

y = 5 + 12 = 17

So, Fraction =  \tt{\dfrac{12}{17}}
