y=x+5

y=12+5=17

Let the numerator be x and denominator be y respectively.

Fraction = $\tt{\dfrac{x} {y}}$

According to the question,

$\tt{\dfrac{x - 5 } {y - 3 } = {\dfrac{1}{2}}}$ --> ( i )

y = 5 + x --> ( ii )

Now,

2( x - 5 ) = ( y - 3 )

2x - 10 = 5 + x - 3

2x - x = 2 + 10

x = 12

Putting value of 'x' in equation ( ii ),

y = 5 + 12 = 17

So, Fraction = $\tt{\dfrac{12}{17}}$
