The mean weight of 60 students in A class is 40 kg .
The mean weight of boys is 50 kg while that of girls is 30 kg.
Find the number of boys and girls in the class.......

the weight of 60 students in a class = 40 kg.

the mean weight of boys =50 kg.

the mean weight of girls = 30 kg

now,

50÷30× 60

Answer:

x+y=60 ..............1

total weight =60×40=2400

30x+50y=2400.............2

by eq1

60-x

put this value in eq 2

30x + 50(60-x) = 2400

30x - 50x + 3000 = 2400

-20x = -600

x=30

and put this value in eq 1

y=60-30

y=30
