1.  Water is added to the mixture,nitre dissolves. The mixture is filtered ,then the filtrate is potassium nitrate solution while the residue is a mixture of sulphur and carbon.

2. First of all heat the mixture and seperate the ammonium cloride through sublimation method. Now, we are left with common salt and sulphur. ... 1) Add water in that mixture , to make salt solution and then filter it to gain sulphur (as it is insoluble in water) and salt solution .
