Democracy doesn't deal with diversity, it's diversity that deal with democracy. In India the diversity is the first thing that comes into mind. This diversity existed since five thousand+ years with people of different life styles stayed as a single nation. They restored democracy even during the rule of kings, invaders and colonial rule. Their diversity made them very hard to divide as the rulers failed to understand what is the bond between them keeping them united in such diversity, keeping the rulers in confusion the people protected their democracy, if democracy had dominated surely the diversity has divided the society leading to disintegration.
