Hi ,
Given polynomials are,
h(x) = 7x³ - 6x + 1 ,
f(x) = 7x² + 17x - 9
Let Resultant polynomial = p( x )
i ) p( x ) = h( x ) + f( x )
= 7x³ - 6x + 1 + 7x² + 17x - 9
= 7x³ + 7x² + 11x - 8
ii ) Degree of p(x)
= heighest degree of p(x)
= 3
I hope this helps you.

Dear Student,
Answer:Degree =3
Solution:
➖➖➖
As we know that in polynomial same powers of
x can be added and subtracted ,like
5x³- 3x³ = 2x³
By this way
Degree of polynomial: Highest power of x
In resultant polynomial Highest power of x is 3,
So, degree is 3.
Hope it helps you.
