Hi there ,

The pressure only affective if the substances are gases and the number of moles of product differs than of the reactants , the reaction shifted to the lowest number of moles which means the lowest volume

As example

N2(g) + 3H2(g) >< 2NH3(g)

Both reactants and products are gases

Moles of reactants are 4

Moles of products are 2

So the pressure affective and shift the reaction forward to form NH3

In your example pressure is not effictive if Iodine in gaseous state
