सभी एंजाइम प्रोटीन के बने होते है। लेकिन इनमें प्रोटीन के अलावा गैर-प्रोटीन पदार्थ भी होते है। ऐसे एंजाइम को होलोएंजाइम या पूर्ण एंजाइम क हते है।

एपोएंजाइम एक निष्क्रिय एंजाइम है। जिसका सक्रियण कार्बनिक या अकार्बनिक सहकारक के जुड़ने पर होता है।
