Answer:

In order to calculate the molecular weight of one water molecule, we add the contributions from each atom; that is, 2(1) + 1(16) = 18 grams/mole. The chemical formula for an ethylene monomer is -(CH2-CH2)-. It has a total of 6 atoms: 2 carbon (C) atoms and 4 hydrogen (H) atoms.

I hope its helpful

In order to find molecular weight of water, you need to write the molecular formula of water i.e. H2O. Then, you need to add the atomic masses of all the atom given in the molecule.

The atomic no. of H is 1 and that of O is 16.

Since, there are 2 atoms of H and 1 atom of O,

=(1*2)+16

=2+16

=18u

Hope it helps...............
