If the object is an irregular solid (stone) then-

For finding volume=

1. Take a Measuring cylinder, fill water in it upto a level (nearly above than the irregular solid) and mark its level on a paper.

2.Now tie the irregular solid to a thread and dip it into the measuring cylinder and mark the measurement after dipping.

3.Now substract the second measurement from the first, what the answer comes will be the volume of the irregular solid.
