With respect to the robbery at Shotover Grange, Horace Danby hadn't done anything like stealing the jewellery.

He was outsmarted badly by the young lady whom he encountered at the house and took her to be the lady of the house.

But, he was arrested by the police as he was found guilty of the jewellery theft at the Grange. His fingerprints led to his arrest as he had not put on his gloves while opening the safe for the lady.

Thus, inspite of not doing anything unethical, he fell a prey for the lady and had to be sentenced in prison.
