The battle of buxar:
If the British hadn't won the Battle of buxar, the course of history naturally changes as the Battle of buxar gave firm rootings to the East India Company in Bengal. If they lose this battle, this would cause them heavy casualties and maybe they backed their journey return to England.
But, this wouldn't happen. After Battle of buxar, the East India Company was established and they overthrow the Nawabs of Bengal. They centered Bengal as their trade center and began to rule all over India. In fact, they wanted the ruler of Bengal, Mir Qasim, to be the puppets of their hands. But, when they opposed, the company began to pressurize Mir Qasim and the rest resulted in Battle of buxar.
