1) The structure of the haemoglobin is such that it can bind four oxygen molecules to it.
2)It does not form the covalent bond with the oxygen, but it is a transient interaction. Which help in release of the oxygen at target site.
3)RBCs are adapted to carry a large number of the haemoglobin molecule to efficient the process.
