The crops in Mandawar, Jhawaharnagar Pakalpuria, Ramganj, Umerach, Jawati, Aamli etc of the area suffered a heavy loss in hailstorm, said Laxminarayan Prajapati, tehsildar, Bundi Tehsil, adding tentative information and data on crop damage is being currently collected and a report would soon be sent to state government.
Bundi district collector Rukmani Riyad Sihag, on Thursday morning rushed to some of the villages in Bundi Tehsil where maximum crop damage was reported but she returned shortly, without holding a proper interaction on crop damage with the farmers. The angry farmers later reached Bundi district headquarters and submitted a memorandum to the district collector demanding a fair compensation for crop loss.
The farmers in Dug and Gangdhar areas of Jhalawar district on Thursday blocked Dug Road for about an hour and demonstrated for a fair and immediate compensation and submitted memorandum to the SDM.
