He was rushed to a government hospital in Kolkata, but they denied him due to a lack of beds. Another hospital lacked the required equipment and specialised specialists to treat him. He spent 14 hours in a serious condition as a result of this and was brought to eight different government hospitals, and yet none of them would admit him. He was eventually admitted to a private hospital, where he was treated.
