the Rutherford gold foil experiment. it's also known as the Geiger Marsden experiment which tells us. ... thegold foil was a detector that would light up whenever an alpha particle hit it. so by allowing alpha particles to go through the little hole in the detector and through thegold foil.

1. Since almost all particles passed through the atom , hence there must be empty space

2. since the some particle deflected back,,, it is due to the presence of large amount of positive charge as center.. which is referred as NUCLEUS and Positive charged particle as PROTON..

3. It is found that Nucleus of atom is like a ball in the cricket stadium,,, where size of nucleus. is $10^{-15}$, while that of atom is $10^{-10}$..

1. According to classic mechanics, any charged body in motion under influence of attractive forces should radiate energy continuously,, such that,, it loses energy and fall back in nucleus,, according to ruther ford,, but actuall electrons or charge particle revolve around the NUCLEUS in circular path called orbit..

2. and majorly he didn't explain anything about the ELECTRONIC STRUCTURE OF ATOM i.e, how the electrons are distributed in atom.....
