Let, the number be x.

A/q

x / 2 = 6

x = 6 × 2 = 12

The number is 12.

Also,

12 can't be a factor of 4 and 9 because 12 is a bigger number.

So,

12 is a factor of 36.

4

4 is definitely a factor of the number.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since half of the certain number is divisible by 6, then it is of the form (2 × 6k) = 12k, where k is an integer.

  • When k = 1, the number is (12 × 1) = 12, which is divisible by 4.

  • When k = 2, the number is (12 × 2) = 24, which is divisible by 4.

  • When k = 3, the number is (12 × 3) = 36, which is divisible by 4, 9 and 36.

However all these numbers are definitely divisible by 4.
