Solution :-

Let us assume that, the doctor died at the age of x years .

so,

→ Doctor's life = x years .

now,

→ He got his degree after = (x/2) years

→ Spent working for a big hospital = (x/3) years .

→ Spent working in his private practice = (x/10) years .

→ Died later = 4 years after retire .

A/q,

→ (x/2) + (x/3) + (x/10) = x - 4

→ (15x + 10x + 3x)/30 = x - 4

→ (28x/30) = x - 4

→ x - (14x/15) = 4

→ (15x - 14x)/15 = 4

→ (x/15) = 4

→ x = 60 years .

therefore,

→ Age of doctor when he retired = 60 - 4 = 56 years (Ans.)
