Given :-

  • Half of a herd of deer are grazing in the field and three-fourths of the remaining are playing.

  • The rest 9 are drinking water from the pond.

To Find :-

  • The number of deer in the herd.

Solution :-

Let The number of deer in the herd be = x.

According To Question :

 \bigstar Half of a herd of deer are grazing in the field

\red {:\longmapsto \rm  Number \: of \: deers\: grazing = \dfrac{x}{2} } \\

Therefore,

 {:\longmapsto \rm  Remaining \: Deers  = \dfrac{x}{2} } \\

According To Question :

 \bigstar Three-fourths of the remaining are playing.

 Number of Deers playing = \rm {\dfrac{3}{4} \: of \: \dfrac{x}{2} }\\

= \rm{\dfrac{3}{4} \times \dfrac{x}{2} } \\

\red {:\longmapsto \rm  Number \: of \: deers\: Playing = \dfrac{3x}{8} } \\

Also the other 9 deer are drinking.

Therefore,

 \rm { Total \: number \: of \: deers = \dfrac{x}{2} + \dfrac{3x}{8} + 9 } \\

 = \rm  \frac{4x + 3x + 72}{8}  \\

 =  \rm \frac{7x + 72}{8} \\

As according to Assumption total number of Deers = \rm x

Therefore,

:\longmapsto \rm x =  \frac{7x + 72}{8}  \\

:\longmapsto \rm 8x = 7x + 72 \\

:\longmapsto \rm 8x  -  7x = 72 \\

\purple{ \large :\longmapsto  \underline {\boxed{{\bf x = 72} }}} \\

Hence,

\large\underline{\pink{\underline{\frak{\pmb{\text Number  \: of \:  Deers  \: in  \: Herd = 72 }}}}}

Answer:

Given :-

  • Half of a herd of deer are grazing in the field and three fourths of the remaining are playing nearby.The rest 9 are drinking water from the pond.

To prove :-

  • The number of deer in the herd.

Explanation :-

  • In the given question half of the deer are grazing in the field and three fourth of the remaining are playing nearby.The rest 9 are drinking water from the pond.

  • Here,

Let,

  • The number of deer in the herd be= x.

  • In the question given that ,
  • Half of the deer are grazing in the field becomes,

  • number \: of \: deer \: grazing =  \frac{x}{2}

And,

  • Three fourth of the remaining deers are nearby becomes,
  • number \: of \: deers \: playing =  \frac{3}{4}

  • Here by multiplying ,

  •  =  \frac{3}{4}  \times  \frac{x}{2}
  •  =  \frac{3x}{8 \: } is \: the \: number \: of \: deers \: playing
  • And also given,
  • Other rest 9 deers are drinking water from the pond ,

□Therefore ,

○To find total number of deers we should add all of the values So,

  • total \: no. \: of \: deers =  \frac{x}{2}  +  \frac{3x}{8}  + 9
  •  =  \frac{4x + 3x + 72}{8}  =  \frac{7x + 72}{8}  =
  • x =  \frac{7x + 72}{8}  = 8x = 7x + 72 = 8x - 7x = 72
  • x = 72.

Therefore \: the \: total \: number \: of \: deers \: in \: herd  will be = x = 72
