Let the two numbers be x and y.

 \underline{ \large \purple{ \mathscr{\dag\:A \bf{ccourding}  \: to   \: \mathscr {Q} \bf{uestion} ....}}}

  • Sum of two numbers is 95

↛ x + y = 95

↛ x = 95 - y ⠀⠀⠀......1)

  • Half of one number is one third of another.

↛x × ½ = ⅓ × y

  • From equation⠀⠀⠀...1)

↛ (95 - y)/2 = y/3

↛ 3(95 - y) = 2 × y

↛ 285 - 3y = 2y

↛ - 3y - 2y = -285

↛ -5y = -285

⪼ y = 285/5

⪼ y = 57

  • Substituting value of y in ⠀⠀...1)

⇝x = 95 - y

⇝ x = 95 - 57

⇝ x = 38

Hence,

  • Two numbers are 38 and 57

\large\bf\underline \blue { \:  \mathscr{V}erification:-}

  • Sum of two numbers is 95

↛ x + y = 95

↛ 38 + 57 = 95

↛ 95 = 95

LHS = RHS

Hence , verified.

Half of one number is one third of another .the sum of the two numbers is 95.what are the two numbers ?

\mathcal{\huge{\fbox{\pink{AnSwEr:-}}}}

↗ The two numbers are 57 & 38.

\mathcal{\huge{\fbox{\purple{Solution:-}}}}

Given :-

  • Half of one number is one third of another .

  • The sum of the two numbers is 95.

To Find :-

  • The two numbers .

Calculation :-

Let the no. be x & y.

According to the question,

  • The half of one number is one third of another.

➡ 1/2x = 1/3y

➡ x = 1/3y × 2/1

➡ x = 2/3 y..............(1)

  • The sum of the two numbers is 95.

➡ x + y = 95....................(2)

Putting equation (1) in (2)

➡ x + y = 95

➡ 2/3y + y = 95

➡ 2y + 3y / 3= 95

➡ 5y/3 = 95

➡ 5y = 95 × 3

➡ 5y = 285

➡ y = 285/5

y = 57

Putting value of y in equation 2.

▶ x + y = 95

➡ x + 57 =95

➡ x = 95 -57

x = 38

Hence ,The two numbers are 57 & 38.

1/2x = 1/3y. [Given]

1/2 × 38 = 1/3 × 57

19 = 19

Hence, L.H.S = R. H. S.
