Let the width of the garden be x metres.

Then length = (x+4) metres

Half the Perimeter = 36m (given)

So, perimeter of the garden = (2*36) = 72metres

A/q

2(l+b) = 72

2(x+4+x) = 72

2x+4 = 72/2 = 36

2x = 36-4

2x = 32

x = 32/2 = 16 metres

Thus, the width of the garden is 16 metres and the length is (16+4) = 20 metres.
