Hi,
Let the dimensions of the rectangular
garden is ,
Length = x m,
Breadth = y m
According to the problem given ,
Perimeter of the garden = 36 m
2( x + y ) = 36
Half the perimeter of a rectangle ,
2( x + y ) /2 = 36 /2
Therefore,
x + y = 18 m -------( 1 )
This is required linear equation.
To draw the graph we have to find
atleast 2 points satisfying equation ( 1 )
i ) put x = 10 in ( 1 ),
y = 8
ii ) put x = 8
y = 10
Plot ( 10, 8 ) and ( 8 , 10 ) on the graph
and join them you can get the line .
I hope this helps you.
