Let the width be x meters
and the length be x + 4 meters
Perimeter = 2 (L + B)
= 2 (x + 4 + x)
= 2 (2x + 4)
But half of P = 36 m
So, P = 2 x 36 m
2 x 36 m = 2 (2x + 4)
36 m =2x + 4 m
2x = 32 m
x = 16m
Therefore, the width of the garden is 16 m and the length is 16 + 4 = 20 m.

Let bredth be X
Then length be X+4
Half Perimeter = l+b
36=X+X+4
36-4=2X
32=2X
32/2=X
16= X
Therefore bredth=X=16 m
And length =X+4
= 16+4
=20 m
