Answer ::

The area of Rectangular garden is 320m².

Step-by-step explanation :-

To Find:-

  • The area of the Rectangular garden

Solution:-

Given that,

  • Half the perimeter of the garden = 36m

∴ Full perimeter = ( 2 × 36 )m

= 72m

  • Half the perimeter of a rectangular garden, whose length is 4 m more than its width ( Breadth )

Let us assume the length and breadth as ( x + 4 ) and x respectively,

The length and breadth of the garden is,

➛ 2 ( Length + Breadth ) = Perimeter

2 ( x + ( x + 4 ) = 72

➛ 2 ( x + x + 4 ) = 72

➛ 2 ( 2x + 4 ) = 72

➛ 2x + 4 = 72 / 2

➛ 2x + 4 = 36

➛ 2x = 36 - 4

➛ 2x = 32

➛ x = 32 / 2

➛ x = 16

Now, the length and Breadth of Rectangular garden is,

  • Length, we assumed length as ( x + 4 )

➛ x + 4

➛ 16 + 4

➛ 20

The length is 20m.

  • Breadth, we assumed breadth as x

➛ x

➛ 16

The breadth is 16m.

ACCORDING THE QUESTION,

The area of Rectangular garden is,

As we know that,

Area of rectangle = l × b,

Where,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth

Therefore,

Area = 20 × 16

➛ 320

The area of Rectangular garden is 320m².
