hey mate here is your answer

length=y+4

breadth=y

p/2=2(l+b)/2=36

y+y+4=36

2y=32

y=16(width)

l=y+4=20(length).

it will surely help you.

\sf{\bold{\green{\underline{\underline{Given}}}}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Half the perimeter of rectangular garden is 36m ; Perimeter = 36 × 2 = 72cm

⠀⠀

  • Length is 4m more than width.

⠀⠀⠀⠀

\sf{\bold{\green{\underline{\underline{To\: find}}}}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Length and breadth of the garden = ??

⠀⠀⠀⠀

\sf{\bold{\green{\underline{\underline{Solution}}}}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀

let the width be x

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Therefore ;

⠀⠀

length = width + 4

⠀⠀⠀⠀

length = x + 4

⠀⠀

\sf{\red{\boxed{\bold{perimeter = 2 ( length + breadth ) }}}}

⠀⠀

72 = 2 ( x + 4 + x )

⠀⠀⠀⠀

72 = 2 ( 2x + 4 )

⠀⠀⠀⠀

72 = 4x + 8

⠀⠀⠀⠀

4x = 72 - 8

⠀⠀⠀⠀

4x = 64

⠀⠀⠀⠀

x = 64 / 4

⠀⠀

x = 32 / 2

⠀⠀⠀⠀

x = 16

⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • putting value of x in length and breadth

⠀⠀⠀⠀

width = x = 16m

⠀⠀⠀⠀

length = x + 4 = 16 + 4 = 20m

⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀

\sf{\bold{\green{\underline{\underline{Answer}}}}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Length of the field = 20m
  • Breadth of the field = 16m
