Let the width be a

Length = a + 4

According to question,

Perimeter / 2 = 36

=> Perimeter = 36 × 2

=> 2 ( Length + Width) = 72

=> 2 ( a + a + 4) = 72

=> 2a + 4 = 36

=> 2a = 32

=> a = 16

Width = 16 cm

Length = 16 + 4 = 20 cm
