let the width of rectangle is x
then length becomes (x+4)
according to the question,
1/2(peri. ) = 36 m
1/2(2(l+b))=36 m
l+b = 36 m
x+4+x=36 m
2x=32 m
x=16 m

so dimension is 20m × 16m
formula used,
perimeter of rect. = 2(l+b)

I hope this will be helpful

let the breadth=b
then length = 4+b
perimeter of rectangle = 1/2×2 (l+b)
36=4+b+b
32=2b
16=b
then length=16+4
=20 m
hope it will help you thnks

Gourav2002: it is given that half the perimeter is 36
