Haloarenes are insoluble in water but are soluble in benzene. explain

Like  dissolves like. 
Haloarenes are non - polar in nature whereas water is polar in nature. Hence they are insoluble in water. Benzene is non polar. Therefore haloarenes are soluble in benzene.
